Dinners Out of Sync
Being together requires time we deliberately make for one another.
In my family, everyone has a different pace of life. My sister eats dinner around five, I eat at six, and Mom eats after work at seven. Dad often eats at eight or nine, or is away on business trips. Although we live under the same roof, we seldom sit down together for a weekday meal.
Making
I used AI-generated video to create a clock that expands as its hands turn. Projected onto the floor, its circular face resembles our family’s round dining table. I placed chairs around it, each representing a family member. As the clock grew, I moved the chairs outward, increasing the distance between them.

The question
The expanding table turns passing time into physical separation. Through this work, I consider how our responsibilities pull us apart, and why sharing a home does not automatically mean sharing a life.
Being together requires time we deliberately make for one another.
